Discovery flights

A discovery flight is a real flight lesson — you sit in the pilot's seat and take the controls, with a certified instructor beside you the whole time. No experience needed, and nothing to bring but yourself.

You'll fly over the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin headlands, the coastline, Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge, and downtown San Francisco, departing from Hayward Executive Airport.

Common questions

Do I need any experience?

None at all. Most people who book have never flown a small aircraft before.

How long is it really?

Plan for about 1.5 hours total — that includes the pre-flight walkthrough, the flight itself, and a debrief afterward.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes, seating depends on the aircraft and weight and balance for the day. Mention it when you book and we'll confirm.

Does this count toward a pilot's license?

Yes. A discovery flight is a real instructional flight, and the time is loggable toward your certificate.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first — if conditions aren't suitable, we'll reschedule you at no charge.

Ready to fly?
